I was part of a conversation this week where the statement was made, "...it is just the times." It was not meant as a positive comment at all and it got me thinking - which is not always a good thing...

Time is often seen as an enemy because it is related to age. In theory no one wants to get older especially women. However, the alternative is not staying younger and I think most of us want that even less than aging. 

I, on the other hand, believe time to be more of a friend than an enemy. Like a fine wine, people do have the ability to be better with age. Whether that ability is utilized is up to us. In truth, this has been a very traumatic week with the loss of two incredible people and another experience that really raised my hackles to the point the I actually wanted to cause physical harm to someone. I normally do not get this passionate - preferring to rearrange their feelings rather than their face - but this was a special case

With everything happening in the world, there has been a lot of talk about end times. I am not up for a theological or philosophical debate on the matter, but so what if this is the end times. Is there anything you can do to stop it? Is there anything you can do to slow it down?

The answer to both is a resounding NO. Nothing can stop or even slow down time and quite frankly, if it were possible, I would have picked a much better time than right now to make it happen.

You see as human beings we like to think we are in control. Well guess what...the only thing humans are in control of is our own reactions to the uncontrollable. The Big Guy Himself is in control...of everything. He can stop time but I am guessing He will not. So our only control is to accept Jesus and  be ready when it happens.

I never want to stop learning and try to learn at least one new thing every day. Sometimes that is easier than others depending on where I am and whom I am with at the time.  you life a little better every day. Always try to encourage others and refuse to be around untrustworthy people or those that have a negative outlook. 

That is why I have chosen to make time my friend and let it heal all wounds and make me a better person. In the mean time, make sure you cherish every moment, look and word with those you love since you never know when it will be the last ones you have.
