Thankful Forever!

It has been a while since I posted and as many of you know the last two years have been long and difficult. I fought (and won!) a battle with breast cancer that is still having a few effects on my life. My husband had an accident and was in the trauma ward for 5 days when I was at my weakest. For a while, I laughingly referred to our home as The Hunt Convalescent Center. Now that we are through the worst, it seems like it was all a blur.

During this time our own personal posse showed up with food and gifts, yes, but the most important thing our posse did was give time. We are so blessed with family and friends  that surround us! When we least expected it they assisted us without even being asked. They loved us dearly without expecting anything in return. If anyone knows me, they know accepting gifts and assistance is not easy for me. However, when God shows ups and shows out, you don't question it, you just accept it and be thankful for everything.

I say all this to let everyone know you never know how much one call or text can mean when someone is at the lowest point they have ever been. When weakness is all you have, you find out how strong you really are and that strength comes from those you choose to surround yourself with, whether is family, church or co-workers.  We are all going through our own stuff and sometimes just a distant touch can change the entire course of the day.

Don’t Take Life for Granted

Many things in life are easier said than done. However, as life teaches me it's lessons, both good and bad, I have learned a few things. Trust God even when it's difficult Love your spouse like there is no tomorrow even when it's difficult Tell your parents you love them because you won't always have […]

Time is Misunderstood

I was part of a conversation this week where the statement was made, "...it is just the times." It was not meant as a positive comment at all and it got me thinking - which is not always a good thing... Time is often seen as an enemy because it is related to age. In […]

Remembering Your Purpose

It's been a while since I had a regular paycheck. Due to personal reasons and pandemic I have been unemployed, by choice at first. I quit in November 2019 to take care of my mother who was in failing health. She was my rock and I would do anything for her. She passed away February […]

January and February – The Months of Re

After the Christmas tree is down and the garland is stowed away, the let-down often begins. However, January and February do not need to be the dreaded months. It is the time for restarting, rebuilding, recharging, and recommitting. Whether we like it or not we all need this time to just "re". Although the holidays […]

Personal Correspondence From Santa – All Ages

I have already begun writing personal letters and poems from Santa to children and it is truly a wonderful experience! However, I have had many requests for options for the elder and shut-in population. With the restrictions in healthcare facilities and limited visitation, many of our loved ones are feeling lonely without family and friends.  […]

Change in The Fourth Quarter

I've never understood why people do not like change.I thrive on change and can't wait to see what new adventure is waiting around the corner. Think about it...without change we would all become stagnant and predictable which sounds like two of the most boring personality traits ever. I also like to think of myself as […]
