It has been a while since I posted and as many of you know the last two years have been long and difficult. I fought (and won!) a battle with breast cancer that is still having a few effects on my life. My husband had an accident and was in the trauma ward for 5 days when I was at my weakest. For a while, I laughingly referred to our home as The Hunt Convalescent Center. Now that we are through the worst, it seems like it was all a blur.
During this time our own personal posse showed up with food and gifts, yes, but the most important thing our posse did was give time. We are so blessed with family and friends that surround us! When we least expected it they assisted us without even being asked. They loved us dearly without expecting anything in return. If anyone knows me, they know accepting gifts and assistance is not easy for me. However, when God shows ups and shows out, you don't question it, you just accept it and be thankful for everything.
I say all this to let everyone know you never know how much one call or text can mean when someone is at the lowest point they have ever been. When weakness is all you have, you find out how strong you really are and that strength comes from those you choose to surround yourself with, whether is family, church or co-workers. We are all going through our own stuff and sometimes just a distant touch can change the entire course of the day.
