Agee & Johnson – Merry Christmas 2019

Agee & Johnson – Merry Christmas 2019

We have had quite the year of changes at the big house on West Main
However our rep as the best auctioneers in Tennessee we still sustain

It was 1977 when Jim and Jerry opened their realty and auction doors
Unlike our friends Hobbs and Lannom they are still making scores

Houses were going for less than sixty grand at the time
And auctions were already bringing in their own dime

Jim is still the busy broker but oh so set in his ways
You still see him on the road most all weekdays

However if you have an appointment you’ll have to wait
Because ‘bless him’ he is just going to be late

Jerry left us several years ago and we said so long as a crowd
He is up there right now trying to sell an angel a cloud

This year, they passed the baton to the one and only Jay White
And for as long as he’s been here it was perfectly right

As a snot-nosed boy in ‘88 Jay was brought into the fold
For only a trial basis that was to be six months old

However, he quickly became a real estate sensation
And they never had their follow-up conversation

Thirty-one years later he is owner and broker
So get to work everyone he doesn’t want mediocre

We are here to celebrate the entire A&J team
Closings and auction chants are stuff that you dream

There’s Harry the Winston-smoking yankee from PA
Dollar Man checking those canisters to see if they’ll pay

Phil’s here with his "listen here now" flowing like silk
You know Cus has to have his biscuit and milk

Short and sweet Linda is glad to be back
Agee and Johnson definitely missed their Hack

Here comes a new hairdo so it must be Seth that we see
Never know if he is down in Florida or up in Tennessee

Scott is the guy that gives art a whole new meaning
But he uses the lobby as a closet for his dry cleaning

Larry is the old man speaking wisdom from his lip
And running around selling on his brand new hip

Ed James is always dapper and well dressed to a "T"
But people need to stop confusing him with Mark Lee

Making real estate deals takes lots of ambition
And Rene Ketelson is a woman on a mission

When Neal is not selling houses and working his charm
You can find him rooting for the Vols down on his farm

Charlie is another Vol fan and wears shorts most days as routine
He can sure talk it off and is now the perfect pirate for Halloween

Michael is the guy to know when you are in trouble
Between making deals and being an SRO he is pulling double

Rooster Man Sanders really knows how to make the bucks
When not at the truck stop he is raising things that go cluck

Helene is the yankee dressed always in classic black
She handles the website and Facebook cause Jay don’t know jack

Chip was once "right off the square and right on the price" with his tires
Now he’s wheeling and dealing and football still lights his fires

Jan is Chip’s better half of this there can be no doubt
She just restored a hundred year old home right down to the grout

Lou Anne was once a teacher as well as Jim’s baby sis
Spreading everything out on the floor brings her working bliss

Jessica seems to be the quiet one of the bunch
But knows how to close it when time is on crunch

Ricky Thorne can really work that southern charm y’all
He’s what we call a conversation leaner but he will not fall

Then there’s Sexy Santa Hayden and even though he belongs to a frat
Is a full-time auctioneer and looks mighty fine in 2D or in other words flat

Where would we be without our backbone of support
They are truly the ones that hold down the fort

When the phone rings she answers it and don’t give her any crap
Lindsey will remember anything because her mind is a steel trap

Without Mackenzie our auctions would definitely hit the skids
She understands the auctioneer chant and manages the bids

Although Courtney is not at the front desk any more
She will be at the auctions just like before

Melissa practices the rule of be heard instead of seen
You can hear her through the wall as if it was only a screen

And although he just very recently hung up his hat
Jerry Dowell’s always one of us no doubt about that

Carol no longer spends all of her time with our clan
She is always welcome and we are all her biggest fan

As we wind down this ode to the A&J team
There seems to be one grand standout theme

I think we can all be thankful and extremely glad
That Jim and Jerry believed in Hayden’s dad

I could have sworn I heard Santa say and you know he is no kidder
Merry Christmas to all and GOING GOING GONE to the highest bidder
