After the Christmas tree is down and the garland is stowed away, the let-down often begins. However, January and February do not need to be the dreaded months. It is the time for restarting, rebuilding, recharging, and recommitting. Whether we like it or not we all need this time to just "re".
Although the holidays are mostly fun, they are still stressful and time-consuming. In addition many of us just came through the last three months in a blur due to fourth quarter business obligations. Now it is time to take a deep breath and get started on new projects or finish ones that were neglected during the rush.
The daylight seems short but in fact it is actually growing
It's a little later each day before the street lamps are glowing
We are exhausted from our efforts in the fourth quarter blitz
Budgets and sales and parties where we had to put on the Ritz
It's now time to pull ourselves out of bed
And focus on the greatness that lies ahead
No matter what's going on in this crazy world today
You are in charge of how you face things coming your way
Grab the bull by the horns each day look it straight in the eye
Let it know that you are in a state of "re" and you can't deny
That life is what it is but I am recommitting scripture and verse
Because I know that in most of the world they have it much worse
I'm thankful I live in a land no matter how crazy it gets
I have freedom and liberty and He is holding the nets
Take time to read, meditate, pray and just be
After all these are the months of "re"
